Update on Little Rascal

Little rascal was discharged from hospital last wednesday.

His temperature seemed to be stable at around 37 degrees celcius on the second day in hospital and paediatrician decided that he could be discharged. Who knows, his fever shot up to 38.8 degrees celcius when he was home. It remained like this for another 2 days.

Little rascal's diarrhea came after he was discharged. Very very liquid and it dripped on the floor whenever he was having it. I was constantly looking out for it in case I stepped on it. Yucks !

Oh forgot to mention, rascal had rashes all over him too. But it disappeared after 2 days. I was told it was normal and so I was pretty cool with it. Everyone was asking about it as it was quite unsightly but luckily it was not itchy so little rascal wasn't bothered by it at all.

Now, seeing little rascal all recovered and returned to his usual self with all the smiles, I just got to pray hard he stays healthy forever. Shoo shoo all the viruses away....

Hospitalised

Who?

Little Rascal.

Yup, he was finally hospitalised for 2 days to bring his fever down. We were told that his fever would come down after inserting the suppository (bullet-like medicine for fever) through anus. It was supposed to be a very strong medicine but it didn't work for little rascal. He was still having fever at 39.6 degrees celcius.

Well, ok, the medicine did bring his fever down for a while but temperature shot up again to 39 degrees after that. And he remained high fever all day long. His body was so scorching hot and especially the head, I felt like it was on fire. So, hubby and I felt that we should bring him to see doctor again on Monday night (the day when I last did my update).

Hubby and I felt that if we didn't get him admitted to hospital, we would be the one die of exhaustion. Ya, from taking care of sick rascal. Because he was so grouchy and cried all the time. I wonder where he got his energy from. He could cry and cry like no tomorrow.

Finally, little rascal was admitted. We felt a relief but it turned out to be a torture for both of us. We stayed overnight in the ward with rascal. Little rascal didn't sleep well in the night. He kept waking up and cry. I took very long to settle him down and just as he was falling asleep, the nurses would come in to take his temperature or checking his urine or putting up the drip for him. And, all these woke him up crying AGAIN.

I had to do the whole routine again and again. And it left us, hubby, me and rascal son, sleep deprived.  I was so frustrated that I nearly shouted at them and asked them to leave us alone !!

Very Sick...

3 days already.

Little rascal is still sick. Very sick.

He is having fever and hovering around 38-40 degrees celcius. His fever didn't subside after 3 days of medicine. We brought him twice to the doctor but the fever is still there. Don't know if it would be better if he is admitted to hospital.

I have been waking up at wee hours to sponge and attend to him. Many a time, he wakes up in the middle of the night due to the discomfort causes by the high fever. He will gives low moan of pain. I feel so sad and heartache when I hear it. Sometimes he is so uncomfortable that he gives out loud cry. He body is so scorching hot when I carry him out of his cot and twice, he vomits on me as soon as I carry him.

In the day, little rascal clings to me like koala bear, refuses to let go of me. I can't even sit down for a while. He wants me to carry him while standing or walking around. He wants no one else but me. No appetite at all. Eats little, drinks little. He is so grouching and cranky. Cry and cry all day long. Since he has not started talking yet, it is just so hard to know what he wants or where his discomfort is. Oh he only knows how to shake his head to say no.

This afternoon, hubby asked him if he wanted to do this and that, he kept shaking his head.

Then, hubby asked: "Do you love daddy?"

Little rascal shook his head.

Daddy asked again:"Do you love mummy?"

Little rascal started to think very hard then nod his head.

Aiyo, have been teaching him to nod his head but he refuses to do and this is the first time he is nodding his head.

My dear boy, mummy loves you.

Little Rascal Is Sick Again....

Just came back from Gleneagles hospital A&E. Tired, tired, very tired.

Little rascal is sleeping soundly in his room. I hope that he will remain like this through the night. So scared he will vomit again.

I have no idea why is he so prone to gastric flu. Last 2 times he was hospitalised for a couple of days. So, when this evening at around 5pm, I found that he was having a fever, I was pretty worried, hoping it wouldn't get worst. Unfortunately, 30 mins later, he started to throw up. I was carrying him facing me so the moment he vomited, he threw up everything on me. I quickly brought him to toilet and he continued with the action.

Poor boy. He looked so pathetic. I washed him up and changed to his night attire. But, deep inside me, I knew he would throw up again ( well, according to his past history). Due to past experience, I let him drank water every 15 mins, holding back his milk as it would make him vomit again. After monitoring for 1 hr and he showed signs of hunger, I decided to feed him milk.

We were sitting on the couch but after 2oz of milk, he began to vomit again. Aiyo, a huge mess. He threw up milk on both of us and the couch. Hubby decided not to take any chance and so we rushed him to hospital. Actually, I was a bit hesitant to go as he was so much better than he had it previously. Last 2 times, he vomited continuously the whole evening. At least 7-9 times. He couldn't drink nor eat anything. Even water. See, how bad it was.

Anyway, we went to see doctor. Luckily, after inserting the bullet (anti-vomit medicine) into his anus (of course, he cried like no tomorrow) and monitoring for 1 hr at A&E, little rascal did not throw up. We were glad things went well. Hopefully he is well when he wakes up tomorrow morning.

Keep my fingers crossed.

18 Mths

Little rascal turns 18mths today !

I've been waiting for this day for so long.

Why?

Because he can go childcare !! Yippee !!

I know, I know. Many have told me that he will fall sick easily if go childcare at such a young age. But, I think the pro outweighs the con. I'm thinking he will definitely learn something at childcare rather than staying at home moving chairs and boxes all day long. Besides, he can learn how to socialise with other kids and learn to be independent. He is too clingy to me now. Like a koala bear. I want him to become a man. A little man.

Oh yes, this morning, we sent little rascal to take his 18mth jab. Haha...what a way to celebrate this memorable day. As usual, he was playing happily at the waiting area. Then, the moment we went in and Dr Yip pulled up his shirt, he cried like mad. I think he remembered that something unpleasant is going to happen.

Dr Yip, being a very experienced paediatrician, gave little rascal the jab while me holding him so tightly to prevent him from struggling. All was done in a split of second. Little rascal immediately stopped his cry as if nothing had happened.

Good job son, for not behaving like a nuisance.

Golfing

Last night, hubby and I went golfing again. It's been continuously 3 nights already. Ok ok I know, but please don't call us siao (mad) as hubby is so enthusiast with the new clubs :) And yes, we are going tonight too .

We bumped into Brad, our Canadian coach, while we were at the range looking for a spot. Don't know why there were so many people there. Usually we can get a spot easily but we were having a hard time searching for one last night. And then, just so coincidentally, Brad managed to get one for us. Hurray !

Brad took a look at my golf clubs and commented that they were very good one indeed. He even told hubby that he doesn't need to change his clubs for the next 10 years. Hubby was grinning all the way :)

Brad was so nice. He took the effort to correct my swing though it was not our coaching session. Thanks to him, I managed to hit very good shots last night.

My Own Golf Set

Hubby has been urging me to get our very own golf set but I'm not so keen as we have been spending quite a lot of money recently; insurance, little rascal's school fees ( very expensive), new enrichment class fees and ...the list goes on.

As usual, hubby got the louder say. So, after checking out on a golf pro shop, we decided to get our set there. Hubby chose Maruman Verity Red-V, the new series 2009. I like hubby's Red-V. Very very chio. The moment I set my eyes on it, I knew hubby sure like it. As you can see, it's just so beautiful, hard to resist.

2009 new series Maruman Verity Red-V

2009 new series Maruman Figaro Ladies-White

I got myself Maruman Figaro. Mine is all white. Hubby chose it for me as he knows I like WHITE. It even comes with pink flury cover for the drivers. Heehee.....

Well, the most malu (embarrassed) part happened on that day was when we were trying out the clubs. Yup, the shop is in a range so they let us tried out the clubs before we purchased. Very thoughtful, eh?

Ok, there were many people crowded over there to see us try it out. So, being very shy as I always am, I asked hubby to try it out first. As usual, hubby did it quite well.

Then, my turn.

I made a few swings.

And, guess what?

Aiyo, disaster !!

I'm acting like I've never made any swing before ! Air swing, hitting hard on the grass mat, balls rolling out instead of flying off, no direction and etc....

I tell you, I just want to bury my head in any hole that I could find.

I swear.

I don't want such thing to happen again. I must practice hard to perfect my swing. I want to be the best lady golfer in......Jurong. Heehee...in my dreams.

Weak...

Update, update....

Too many things to update. I have being very lazy recently. Always feel so sleepy and tired. Don't want to do anything, just want to lie down and sleep. It all happens after I stop my diet programme. When I'm on my diet programme, I'm very alert and not feeling a sign of fatigue at all but now.....It's those sinful carbo that's making me feeling so weak ! I hate carbo but I can't live without it. How ??? Arrgghhh......

Virgin Bath

Heehee...don't you think otherwise.

It's the virgin bath for little rascal and me. I have a few friends who take shower with their children to save time, so I was thinking since I need to take a shower today, why not try it with little rascal.

Little rascal was so happy to step into my bathroom. He has always wanted to come into my bathroom to play with my tap but of course, I have never allowed him to do that. Today, he stepped into my bathroom with so much joy and he was like,' Wah I finally did it'.

It was quite a fun experience. I was busy shampooing little rascal and he was busy playing with my bottles of shampoo and bathing gel. We were having fun and enjoying it as well. But, still need to 'jagarh' (keep an eye on) him as he would try his luck to play with the tap. Both my hot and cold water taps are quite low. They are about his height so it's quite easy for him to turn around to turn on and off the tap. I don't mind him playing with the cold water tap but not the hot one. I certainly don't want to get scorched by the hot water! Yup, we don't want to turn into suckling pig.

Well, little rascal behaved quite well today. Besides being a bit grouchy when woke up from his noon nap, he was pretty ok the whole day. He finished his meals and went to bed on time. Recently, he has been quite a handful. Very cranky and clingy to me. He does not want to go to bed on time and refuses to take his meal.

Yesterday I was so angry with him. He refused the maid to feed him. So, no choice, I got to feed him. And guess what, He took TWO HOURS to take his meal and YET didn't finish his dinner. He left more than half of the bowl untouched. I don't know what happen to him. He is not sick and doesn't look teething.

Arrrghhhhh....I don't know my son!
