Ok, now I'm sick....

That's why I don't have any updates for these few days.

Little rascal passed the virus to me and so I'm now sick for 3 days already. Have been popping panadol all these while but my fever just didn't subside and throat is painfully sored. So, I decided to see a doctor, hoping to get well real soon since son is in Gleneagles hospital now.

Yes, yes, he hasn't recovered yet. He's been hospitalised for 2 days already. Sent him to see a paediatrician on yesterday ( Saturday 30 May) morning and doctor said he's having brochitis, so rascal was admitted immediately.

The poor boy can't really breathe. According to the doctor, he got red and swollen throat, too much mucus and phlegm inside his body too. And, he's still vomiting. He's been vomiting everyday. I hope with the treatment, he will recover soon. I really hate to see him suffering !

Because I'm sick, so it's hubby and maid taking turns to take care of little rascal. I certainly hope that I'll recover fast so that I can take care of him myself. I so missed my son !

ok, back to where I started.....

I went to see a doctor just now. And guess what? I was number 5 in the queue. It took me 1.5 blardy hours to see the doctor !! After which, I was charged for $81 !!!! Crazy !!
Go rob the bank lah !

I took a peep at the consultation card and saw one medicine was charged at $40. I asked the nurse and she said it's antibiotics. I came home, opened the antibiotics, it has only 5 capsules. This made me even mad, 5 capsules for $40 !?

I called hubby. I will never go see a doctor again.

Birthday Treat

Not mine lah....

It's my hubby's.

It's hubby's birthday yesterday (Monday, 25 May) and I got him a chocolate cake from Bakerzin. Yummy yummy. The best deal I've got. Bakerzin is having a promotion and the cake is 50% off the usual price. So, I just went ahead and bought one at only $12.90. Very worthy.

Though yesterday was hubby's birthday, I gave him a treat on Sunday instead. Yesterday, we went to Zhou Zhuang for Chinese cruisine buffet. Delicious. They even have chilli crab!

Ok, back to the birthday treat.

We dumped son and maid at my parent's place. We went to Nogawa Japanese Restaurant at Sentosa Golf Club. This restaurant was highly recommended by a local TV show, Makansutra. I was watching the show last year and promised myself that I would bring hubby here for his birthday treat.

The food was simply delicious ! The sashimi was so fresh and the other cooked dishes; like grilled fish, clear soup, sushi, deep fried ebi, dessert and etc....( I ate so much that I couldn't recall now), were just fingers licking good.

Too bad, I don't have nice pictures to show. But I managed to take 2 ( I think) with my handphone. Gotta wait for hubby to upload for me.

Son Is Sick Again....

I'm so scared of him falling sick because he will vomit at least several times a day. He is down with high fever (Yes, very very high at 40.1 degrees celcius!), cough and running nose. And, when he cough, he will vomit. Haiz....don't know why.

Rascal son has been vomiting whenever he cough. Luckily I have a maid to clean up all the mess. He even vomited twice on his bed while he was sleeping. Poor boy was awaken by his cough and had a hard time felling asleep again. He was so clingy to me and I had to carry him the whole day. But with his weight, how can I tahan (tolerate) for whole day. So, smart mummy ergoed son and problem was solved. Heehee.....

Oh yes, just now when son's temperature shot up to 40, we decided to insert the 'bullet'. This is the most powerful medicine for fever. I tried last time but failed as the 'bullet' kept squeezing out by itself. This time round, hubby decided to try his luck. And, after 2 tries, he managed to insert it in. Phew ! We were so pleased because with this medicine, we knew that the fever will come down pretty soon for at least a few hours before it shoots up again.

Keep my fingers crossed.

Mother's Day Present

In my previous post, I mentioned that little rascal brought back a carnation from school for me. In fact, he actually brought back 2 presents...heehee...

A carnation flower and a book mark !

The book mark is made of little rascal's footprint. I knew it as it was done on his first day at school. It was made during his art & craft and teacher didn't disclose anything at all. So, it's a surprise for me !

My very first mother's day present. Thank you son !

Today at school...

I think I am writing too much on this topic but please bear with me for at least one more post, ok?

This morning, little rascal smiled and waved good bye to me at the door again.

Good sign.

After sending hubby and son off, I started playing restaurant city while taking my breakfast simultaneously. The feeling was so good. Quiet and relaxed. No more fussiness from rascal, no more clinging to my leg to ask me to carry and no more pulling my hand down to stop me from using my laptop......

So peaceful.

At 1pm. Hubby was back with rascal son. Rascal got me a carnation from school. Oh good. Happy Mother's Day. Heehee.... My very first carnation.

Being a good boy, little rascal didn't cry at school today. I'm so glad he adapts well. What a relief!

But, hubby told me that rascal son cried when he was having water play. He REFUSED to get out of the pool !!

I still remembered when we first brought rascal for his first swim. He cried like mad. Everyone was looking us, as if we were torturing him.

My water boy. You have finally grown up.

All By Myself

Who else?

Hahaha...Little rascal lah !

After spending 3 days at school with him, I left him all by himself on the 4th day. It's the school policy that parent can only accompany their child for three days as anything more than that will become a habit. Which we don't want, right?

So, poor boy woke up on that morning thinking that mummy would still be with him in class. Sorry son, this is for your own good. Hiaks, hiaks, hiaks....

But, little rascal was such a good boy. He smiled and waved at me at the door, melting my heart as he went off with his dad.

Finally! I could have some free time to myself. I surfed net, played restaurant city, and looking at the clock, wondering what little rascal was doing at school.

Was he crying pitifully looking for me? Was he playing happily with other kids? Did he fell down? Was he hurt? Did he eat his snack and lunch? .....etc etc..... Was I worrying too much ?

Then, at 10.30am.

I received a phone call from the school.

Darn!

Something bad had happened to my rascal.

The lady from administrative office told me that little rascal was having a fever at 37.8 degrees celcius, asking if I'm going to pick him up. Well, since he would finish school at 12.30pm, I asked the lady to leave him at sick bay to monitor. I was told she would also be sticking a cool pad on his head to bring the temperature down.

Then, as I was thinking that's it, she revealed that little rascal fell down in the morning while playing at the playground. He was riding a bouncing animal and fell flat on the sand. Oh, my heart leaped.

Fortunately, little rascal had a shock but climbed up by himself WITHOUT crying.
He had some abrasion. And that's all. Phew!

More good news.

Little rascal was such a brave boy at school. HE DID NOT CRY AT ALL !
According to the teachers, all the kids (4 other new kids) cry EXCEPT rascal son !!

Hooray !!

My brave son, mommy is so proud of you !!!

At Pre-School Part 4

On the 3rd day ....

Little rascal's pre-school

He hates the sticky texture of flour and water. Too bad, I didn't manage to snap his expression when he made a yucky face...hahaha....

Little rascal was exploring the cd player at the back when the rest are having an activity in front.

He is participating in one of the activities....

My boy is cuddling a stuffed toy while listening to teacher's instruction. Hey mummy's boy....

At Pre-School Part 2...

Another update on little rascal's pre-schooling....

On the 2nd and 3rd day, little rascal though a bit clingy to me; always came to me to sit on my laps, was still enjoying his time at the school. Phew!

I'm so scared that he will cry as there are a few kids who really tears a lot.

There's this little girl, SM, that I mentioned in my previous post who's mom is one of the teachers there, was crying all the time and rejecting everyone. SM lugged her backpack, carried her water bottle and held her shoes in her hands, was crying and screaming her head off.

I certainly do not want little rascal to behave this way.

No way!

At Pre-School Part 1...

So many updates to do.....

I was busy accompanying little rascal to his pre-school these three days.

Little rascal started his school on Monday (4/5/09). Yup, I know he is still very young at 18 mths old but I still think it's better to send him to the child care than idling at home. Hmmm... I keep telling myself....this is for his own good :)

Ok lah, I admit. It's for my own good as well as I can finally have some ME time for myself.

The pre-school that I have selected for little rascal is run by an 'ang mo'. Hoping with the foreign influence, the curriculum is more creative and not 'duck-fed'. Actually the very first thing that attracted me was the environment of the school. I really love it. It is situated in a very secluded place, far away from the traffic and noise. A serene nature with vast area to explore.  The buildings are those black and white colonel houses. Very nice.

Anyway, I was there for 3 days to accompany little rascal while getting him to adapt to the new environment. He was perfectly fine the first day. I was so glad to see him roaming around the classroom, exploring every corners, playing the toys and listening to teachers' instructions.

I was amazed to see my little boy handling things so well. Imagine I have been so worried for the last few weeks thinking that my little rascal would scream his head off. But no, he did not.

There are 8 toddlers in the class with 2 teachers, English and Chinese. But as this is a new class, with 5 new students, the principal and a teacher assistant came to help out. Of course, not forgetting the five parents of the new students.

There are 2 toddlers who keep crying...especially the girl who's mom is one of the teachers in the school. She cry whole day.First day. Second day. And, third day. Nobody can make her stop. Her grandma, daddy and teachers.

I'm so scared that little rascal will behave like that.

Oh please don't !

Scary.....

May Day Gathering

We finally had a gathering for mummies and toddlers after last xmas. And, oops, I didn't attend the xmas gathering so that makes me didn't meet with other mummies ever since last September. Talking about the gathering, we actually know each other through a motherhood forum. You know, this is the wonder of internet. We are all strangers but join the same forum and chatting through internet when we were pregnant in 2007 till now, 2009, our babies become toddlers !!

Ok, back to the gathering. We held it at Penang Place where we had buffet. The food is nice especially it's signature dish, Penang chay kuey tiao. Hubby and I had 2 servings of it and left us with very small appetite for other dishes.

I was happy to meet other mummies and talked to them in person. But, I always have regrets of not able to talk to more mummies. Usually, I only managed to talk to 3 or 4 mummies.

I was seated with chintz and jovial and so naturally, I talked to them most of the time. As for the rest of the mummies, I am so sorry that I didn't get to talk to you much. I will try to do it the next time, ok?

Gingerleaf, you really slimmed down a lot with your super diet !! So sexy somemore.... Hey, lyn is so sweet and tall.Chintz and Jovial, you two are so friendly that I like you immediately. Oh, I think Chloe and Caelan are the tallest among the toddlers. What have you two been feeding them? Long beans ??

Ponponta, Anders is so good looking with those big round eyes just like yours! Jas, you are such a wonderful mummies with 2 great kids. Oh, Dayan is just so handsome. He is definitely a heart throb winning the hearts of many girls that come along. Totoro, good to see you slim down as I think you really look good in that outfit. And, Kelly looks very sweet in her pink skirt too. Junnie, so sad I didn't have the chance to talk to you. Zann is very pretty and though Lance has slimmed down a bit, he still looks chubby to me.....

To all other mummies that I didn't mention, I'm sorry I didn't have the time to chat with you all and know you all well. Please give me some time. I will make it up the other round.
